Visual Artist/Photographer Owens Daniels, known for his portraits of area artists and musicians, visits Afternoon Jazz with Jim Steele, Thursday, January 4, at 4:30 p.m.

Daniels will host an opening ceremony for his new exhibit of photographs, "Shooting With My Feet In NYC," Friday, January 5, 7 p.m. until 10 p.m. at Artworks Gallery, 564 North Trade Street, Winston-Salem. The public is invited.

The opening also includes a performance by the musical group, "Nikki J & The Gentz," at 8 p.m. This exhibition includes an artist talk with prints, T-shirts and posters on hand for purchase.

Images from an exhibition of portraits of local jazz musicians by Daniels called, "Birth Of the Cool," are featured in a marketing campaign by WSNC 90.5 FM called, "Locally Sourced" jazz music.

WSNC listener-members to donate at the $40 level and above, will receive their choice of images featuring: Matt Kendrick, bass; Diana Tuffin, vocalist; Joe Robinson, trumpet; "Big" Ron Hunter, blues; Nick Hayes, drums; or Hashim Saleh, congas.
