90.5 WSNC-FM Off Air & Off Streaming

Currently, 90.5 WSNC-FM is not broadcasting a signal through the radio airwaves nor streaming online on this website or mobile apps.  We hope to be back up providing the programming you’ve become endeared to before Christmas, but it could be later.

The University experienced an infrastructure issue that shut down electricity in half of the campus last Tuesday, December 16.  While most of the campus was restored later that evening, 2 buildings remain in the dark including Hall-Patterson, home of 90.5 WSNC-FM. Typically, an industrial generator outside of Hall-Patterson was installed 3 years ago to ensure the station remains functional despite any power outages on campus.  It did its job until late Saturday night about 10:00p when the generator shut down, and terminated the electricity to the station. The university is scheduled to troubleshoot that issue today (Monday 12/22) and hopefully that will have us back on air some time today.  If it’s unresolved, there is no definitive time for restoring power and a signal.  But we will return!
